FAQs

Q1: How long have you been in the animation industry?
Not long. I just graduated this year so I'm trying to break in right now. However, as an Animation major, I've gained a lot of experience working in animation production during my time in college. I worked as a background artist and animator for several student projects, served as an e-board member for professional film organizations, and directed two animated films, my most recent being my senior thesis "The Woodland Book Nook."
Currently, I'm volunteering for Asians in Animation. My goal is to become a visual development artist and 3D modeler for feature films and video games.
You can check my work experience on my website.
Q2: What programs/brushes/tablets do you use?
Tablets: Wacom Cintiq 22, iPad Air 11 + Apple Pencil Pro
Programs:
- 2D Art: Photoshop, Procreate
- 3D Art: Blender, Maya
- Video Editing: Premiere Pro
Brushes: I use a lot of different brushes. Mainly, I like to use Kyle T. Webster brushes and Jeremy Fenske's brushes for Photoshop, and basic brushes in Procreate.
Q3: Are you opening commissions?
Currently not accepting commissions now, but it's been on my mind for a while so I'll do it soon!
Q4: How often do you make videos/stream?
Currently I don't have a solid schedule for videos and streams since I'm still adjusting to my new jobs and figuring out my work schedules. Also, I make all my videos and streams by myself, so it takes a while for new contents from me. Still, I love making YouTube videos so I hope you can stick around and watch my artsy contents!
Q5: Why do you love frogs so much?
Long story short, I love frogs because I grew up reading "Frog and Toad" by Arnold Lobel and used to enjoy reading frog facts as a kid. Then in college, I made an animated short film for my sophomore finals about frogs. My peers and professors started calling me "the frog artist," and the rest is history.
Q6: How long have you been drawing?
I've been drawing my whole life, but I started taking it seriously around 2018.
Q7: What inspired you to become an animator?
That's a long story! Basically, I grew up watching a lot of animations and enjoyed drawing comics and writing fanfics on Wattpad. However, there was a movie that really inspired me to work in the industry and that was "Wreck-it Ralph." I loved (and still love) every aspect of this movie, from the animation and world-building to the story and characters. When I first watched it, I felt emotionally connected to the main characters for their struggles to fit in and was moved by Ralph’s speech about self-acceptance at the end. It was the first movie that got me to buy its art book and look for the screenplay, and from that I got interested in filmmaking.
